Meet Your Photographer

Nice to meet you- I’m Lynds... At least that’s what my friends call me- and I’d love to be yours too.

I’ve been capturing moments and connection since 2012, and I absolutely love what I do. I have had opportunities through my experiences in photography that I never would’ve had otherwise. I consider myself truly blessed to enjoy my one of my many passions as my career!

In addition to creating art through my lens, I have a passion for somatic therapies and am an avid dancer. I help facilitate ecstatic dance and rhythm in the area in addition to my work as a photographer. I also contract services to help people on health journeys. I love being in my garden, cultivating a DIY project, eating and cooking excellent, fresh and local food, and appreciating nature in every way I can. I love to hike, alongside my partner, Justice. I have an amazing family and the coolest kids who are my inspiration for starting my business.

I get asked a lot if my name is Melrose- so let me explain. Melrose Photography gets its namesake from my oldest daughter, Melody Rose. I’m not in Melrose, California, though I do have a cool story about that if you ever want to ask!

I believe that the best images are captured when everyone is able to enjoy the experience. I am all about reading the energy of the people in a group and neutralizing any stress or worry as we focus on connection between individuals. I love a gorgeous location as much as anyone- but I care more about capturing YOU!

I can’t wait to continue my journey in this career, and I learn more with each year!

Random Facts

I read movie reviews for fun!

I am a facilitator for Boise Ecstatic Dance- dance is one of my greatest passions!

I am 90% vegetarian- never really cared for meat, although I do enjoy seafood on occasion.

Most of my best friends live in other countries!

Before I did photography, I worked as a daycare provider for 6 years.

I’m the oldest of 6 kids- 1 sister and 4 brothers!

I am body positive and an advocate for (and member of the) LGBTQ community.

My favorite travel destination is London, England. I’ve been there twice and would love to go back.

I was a music major in college.

I’ve never broken any bones (and would prefer not to!)

I never intended to shoot professionally- I started for fun to try and get images of my kids! Before I knew it, I was having multiple requests and decided to take the leap.
